oceanic turn is a work that seeks to
‘reconstruct’ ‘humans’ based on 3D tools. This
work emphasizes that humans are not isolated
‘lives’ with organic completeness, but rather
relational beings continuously reconstructed
in relation to non-human lives and non-living
entities. In this video work, the connection
between turtles, fish, and boats illustrates
the rebirth of ‘humans’ as ‘oceanic humans,’
presenting the image of the oceanic turn of
civilization. This image suggests the impossibility
of humanity without the ocean and indicates
the need to seek sustainability for humanity in
conjunction with the ocean.
